Kitchen Construction: Typical Timelines

The amount of time it takes to put in a new kitchen varies greatly based on the amount of work that needs to be done. If walls need to be knocked down, or additions need to be built, your contractor will be the person in control of your schedule.

We can, however, tell you what to expect when it comes to ordering and installing your cabinetry. The following is a typical timeline for replacing your cabinets.

1 to 4 weeks, kitchen planning and design

This is the period of time it takes to get proper measurements, create a plan, choose materials and finalize budget for your kitchen.

8 weeks –cabinetry completion

From the day your dealer submits the order to Decorá, it generally takes eight weeks for us to complete your kitchen to your specifications. In most cases, it will be delivered to your dealer within 8 weeks…a span of time much shorter than many custom shops. Because we have such tremendous capacity at our factory, you will never have to wait in line behind other orders like you do at custom shops. Eight weeks from order to delivery is our promise to you.

2-4 weeks installation

This amount of time can vary widely depending on the other things that are going on in your kitchen space during your renovation. However, if your kitchen is ready to receive the cabinets, you can usually get on your dealer’s schedule for installation and have the project completed within 4 weeks.

What if something goes wrong?

If you are unhappy with your cabinets due to a manufacturing defect, misapplied order, or damage during shipment, we have a whole customer service system to support you. Just bring the issue to your Decorá dealer, who can return the product to us. Usually, we can turn around most replacement requests within a week, so your project isn’t slowed down.
